As the founder and heart behind Companion Journeys LLC, Leah is passionate about empowering individuals with travel challenges to engage in meaningful travel experiences. From her many adventures exploring the world combined with her dedication as a Hospice volunteer, she found she had a unique set of skills to offer people with travel obstacles. What she created with Companion Journeys LLC is a solution and service to allow those people to engage in travel experiences with the assistance of a companion.

Through extensive journeys over the years, her passion for travel evolved from exploring various destinations to immersive experiences residing in diverse locations. From her humble upbringing in rural Minnesota, Leah’s also lived in the lush, green abundance of the Pacific Northwest, the vast, sunbaked expanses of the Arizona desert and currently resides in the rugged mountains of Montana. Living and traveling to new places shaped her perspective on life while navigating unfamiliar situations helped develop her resilience, patience and adaptability.

And for several years, Leah worked as a Hospice volunteer primarily providing companionship and support to senior citizens. Being a Hospice volunteer was a deeply rewarding experience, offering her an opportunity to provide comfort to individuals and their families facing life-limiting illnesses. It’s a role that requires compassion, empathy and a strong desire to make a difference. While the work could be emotionally challenging, she felt it was a privilege to serve her clients while gaining a greater appreciation for life and its important moments.
